Went to church this morning.
God is awesome how he works things out. He allowed me the opportunity to work with Kurt Stahl in San Diego. Thank goodness for Magan Stahl, who has been a peach and a bright light to have in my life over the last few years. When I told her about my official orders to Germany she was eager to tell me about Trinity Church where they went in Virginia Beach years ago. She told me about Tommie, who once was involved at Trinity in VB whom she also went to college with in Florida, and had started a church campus in Stuttgart. I reached out to Tommie back in February when I got orders and reconnected a few days before I flew to Germany. He got me set up with a ride from my barracks at Panzer to the church a few miles away. Jennifer and Mike were super nice and accommodating to give me a ride in their cute little Fiat, and ensure I met lots of people right away.
How awesome that when you just ask God to help, he provides the relationship; to provide the connection; to provide the church; to provide the transportation. Wow.

Trinity Church in Stuttgart takes place in Motor World. You walk in and its full of glass boxes of cars like Lamborghini’s, Rolls Royce, etc. Yet in a small fully glass ‘walled’ room, chairs are set up, a few microphones and music stands, and a screen.
It was certainly not what I was expecting. Coming from North Coast Church in Vista with a full band, lights and loud music and an energetic pastoral team, this was not on the same level I’m used to. But, I’ll adjust. Several people are military and work on Patch and Panzer so that’s good to know I’ll be able to see some friendly faces during work hours, although highly outranking me.
So I suppose this is where I’ll be starting off. Everyone was shocked I was already at church after having just arrived 72 hours prior. But, I knew that I needed this. What else was I going to do? Sit around my barracks room all day using my data to build this website – or at least try to?
One couple told me they moved to Germany from San Diego as well and that if I liked California, I was going to love it here. (still keeping my fingers crossed) I’m hoping similar statements from other people will hold true and I’ll finally come to terms with it all.
Time will pass one way or another, but I might as well enjoy the living by going and doing.
