Morocco : Dec 1 – 14

My second time to Morocco (April 2016), both for work.
Last time was Agadir; this time Kenitra. Also visited Rabat and Casablanca.
As a whole, Agadir was way better. Much more European, cleaner, great hotel location, and I think safer. But this allowed for a whole new experience of the country.

Went on this trip to cover some training Marines were doing with the Royal Moroccan Armed Forces. Because, why not advertise for myself, heres the link to my portfolio where you can see some of the content I released from this trip in the most recent posts: https://www.dvidshub.net/search?q=brytani%20musick

Highlight of the trip hands down was riding the camels on the beach of Kénitra and watching the sunset. It was incredible how amazing I felt after getting to watch the sunset on the beach.. Man do I miss Cali!!

Rabat

This is apparently the building Tom Cruise drives a car through in Mission Impossible. The other photos are just views down the street to get a feel for the local area. Nothing fancy.

Casablanca

We went to the Hassan II Mosque. It is the largest mosque in Africa, and the 3rd largest in the world. I didn’t pay to go inside as I wasn’t interested in a mosque at all but I guess it wasn’t bad looking from the outside.
Casablanca may be famous for a movie, but its very dirty and crowded. I was not a fan.

Medina

A Medina is the old part of a town or city, typically walled, and contains narrow streets, full of vendors selling nearly anything you could imagine. This is where everyone got souvenirs.

All in all, don’t plan on going back to Morocco. Always felt dirty, it was all the same, food wasn’t terrible, the military hosts were EXTREMELY hospitable though and made up for the rest of the area. Getting food poisoning and sitting out for two days alone in my hotel room definitely didn’t help the positivity I can report on from this trip.
But the other Marines I got to meet and work with were really great and I laughed more with them in a few hours than I had during the previous four months in Germany.

Now, southern Africa including a safari and giraffes .. that could make me love Africa!
