I chose the title So, Live; after my best friend Alex passed away and he lived such a life of joy, freedom, and peace. I have it tattooed on my wrist and it serves as a reminder that: “So,” no matter what bad thing happens, tough time comes, things change, people walk out of your life – “Live” travel, laugh, see the world, and do the things you want, even if you do it all alone; and a semicolon as a reminder to continue your story which is a symbol for suicide awareness. So, Live;

I originally started this blog to document my travels over what I thought would be two years in Europe. That turned into four years and it still wasn’t enough time after I had fallen in love with the culture and area and travel opportunities. When I started this site I had no idea I’d stay at my duty station in Germany for so long but it afforded me so many fantastic things and I’m grateful for it all. Some of these posts were written with people in mind back home whom I knew would enjoy the very detailed explanations, multitude of photos, and personal thoughts and insight which definitely made it more fun to write. But over time it became tedious, a lot of work, and little reward to do so much for only a few people.

Now in early 2024 this site serves as a scrapbook of sorts, a place where all my memories still live on in detail for me to enjoy in the future, and hopefully a place to stay connected.
